Thatcher's Gold

My standards must be slipping. Yet again, I find myself reviewing cider on a beer blog. Nevertheless, this is the first time I have tried Thatchers cider, and I am pleasantly surprised.

I tend to shy away from ciders because they are very sweet and artificial. However Thatchers is different. As the name suggests, it is a deep golden colour with a strong carbonation.

To taste, it is a dry cider, of medium strength with a slight sweet aftertaste that lingers after your sip. I like it because it is (in my opinion) perfectly balanced. The apples used are almost relatable to a dry wine, if that makes any sense.

I'd certainly have this again, especially as my fist time trying it is here in a beautiful country pub in Dorset. How fitting! I rate this cider a 7 out of 10. I'd have it any day! Especially in summer!
