Wychwood Brewery - Hobgoblin

Brewed in Oxfordshire, this deep ruby coloured beer is nothing short of amazing. With its rich, malty taste and smooth blend of hops it leaves your taste buds feeling immensely satisfied, providing an unexpected kick of bitterness on the sides of your tongue.

There is hardly any carbonation from this brew which explains its lack of froth or "head". However this isn't a bad thing, after all... you get more of the liquid than the air. Furthermore, you may kill me for judging a beer by its bottle but with Hobgoblin you must admit that it is as stunning on the outside as the contents within. Who could possibly dislike the sneaky little fellow holding an axe in a battlefield? There is something strangely pagan about the whole thing.

Now to rate this beer. This is the difficult part, I have this traditionally every Christmas day so am already biased. Therefore I deem this beer a 9 out of 10. Hate me all you like, but you MUST try it.

Remember to tell us what you think.
